Why choose a wood stove?
There are many decisions that can help tailor a wood heater to your needs. Some of the factors are: overall performance, efficiency, heat output, material used in manufacturing, quality, thickness of the steel/iron, and catalytic versus non-catalytic. Further to these, there are factors specific to your home.
- Placement of the unit in your house
- Area being heated
- Age of house
- Overall insulation
- Also, a few other details to address are:

- Exceptional & Efficient Heating
Quality brand stoves from partners we work with now have average efficiency ratings of 80 to 85%. Choosing quality really does make the difference.
- Environmentally Friendly
Old wood stoves had emissions upwards of 22 grams per hour. Using as much as 90-150 pounds of wood per 13 hours of burn time. Current standards bring it down to an average 3-4 emission grams per hour; with around 16 lbs of wood burned in 13.5 hrs. New standards will continue to try and drive this number down.
- Economical
Wood heaters are more efficient then they have ever been. EPA standards are regularly updating and requiring manufacturers achieve the best burn rates possible. Today many units have an 8-12hr burn time allowing users to get the most out of each cord.
- No Power Needed
Works during a power outage. Powerful radiant heat that is comfortable and reliable.
- Cooking on a Wood Stove
Cooking on a wood stove has been a common practice for many years. With practice, use of a thermometer, and learning how to adjust the stove heat, a person can become very adept at a number of different foods.
